I'm currently using Windoze firewall and Avast A/V plus Webroot Spysweeper and Window Washer (which I swear by)

I'm now thinking of using Webroot Firewall with A/V as my old XP firewall (Norton) didn't transfer to my new Vista pooter. Or do I just play safe and go with Norton again? Any advice please anyone?

1 hour and 17 mins into AVG it says no threats found so far

It's found loads of Tacking Cookies though - but I spect Adaware or Spybot will advise on those later?

I always clear those out in AVG.. adaware then still finds more sometimes

Two hours into the AVG scan - all was going swimmingly - then I got the blue screen of death

Have restarted computer - will restart scan

So, there I was, an hour and a half into an Adaware scan.

Computer froze.

I'm going for plan B - use FF in safe mode to order a new computer a few weeks earlier than planned.
