we got onto the story CDs because of the distance we have to travel to see granny and papa. you can only play i spy for so long before you lose the will to live

We have loads of cassettes but not much on CD, and no cassette player in the car.

BB Baby will just fall asleep...we have broken the journey in half and it's about 5 hours to Inverness, then about 3 to go up to Scrabster (with an overnight stay in between).

I converted a load of music cassettes onto CD for my Dad a while back... play them into the PC, chop them up into tracks, normalise the volume levels and burn to CD.. can only be done in real time though... but I did learn to hate Johnny Mathis.. so not all bad

Oh and anyone remember the Music For Pleasure label .... an oxymoron if ever there was one

I should get one of them to go with the USB turntable...but just looked and they are a bit pricey.

I just used a conventional cassette deck into the line in input of the PC then did the MP3 conversion there.. after tidying everything up

The first time I did it it used a shite sample rate for an audio book setting.. was only 54Meg but sounded awful so I redid at a much high rate.. hence the stupid size but it is nearly 4 hours long
