Heavy rain and strong winds spreading northeastwards today and overnight.

Today:
Northern Ireland, Wales and the southwestern half of England will have patchy light rain initially, this gradually being replaced from the southwest by heavy rain and strengthening winds. Elsewhere dry, but often cloudy, with the best sunshine across northwest Scotland.

Tonight:
Heavy rain and strong winds spreading to most remaining areas. Risk of coastal gales along southwest and western coasts. Later drier conditions reaching Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England.

Sunday:
Rain lingering across the far north of Scotland, while clearing east from England by midday. Brighter conditions with scattered showers following, some showers becoming heavy across Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Rain the the north. Sunshine and showers elsewhere.

Today:
Persistent and sometimes heavy rain in the north becoming confined to northern Scotland. Elsewhere breezy with sunny periods developing, along with scattered showers, some of the showers quite heavy in places by afternoon.

Tonight:
Rain over northern Scotland edging away northwards to Shetland. Elsewhere clear periods, with showers mostly dying out, but with some continuing near western and southern coasts.

Monday:
Cloudy with rain over Shetland. Elsewhere sunny spells and showers, with some of the showers heavy with thunder by afternoon, and also becoming prolonged in some western parts later.
