and the cheeky f*cker has done it before!
I hate George Osbourne
They are all as bad as each other if you ask me
honestly
our government, well a fair amount of MP's are so corrupt
no doubt theres a few gudduns in that pile of corrupt shyte
They are all as bad as each other if you ask me
Liam Fox (Con)
Don Foster (Lib Dem)
Tory MPs David Amess and Peter Luff
Liberal Democrat Nick Harvey
Lets be fair here Squiggle, that's half a story to be honest,^^^^ you posted above!
Considering everytime George Osborne opens his mouth is to brain wash the public that everyone claiming benefit is a cheat, I think it's ironic that he should be caught out doing this.
never in my life can I remember a government like this.
You've lost me Dame Ann, it's in the news today and I don't really see what is half a story about it. As I say there are bad 'uns on all sides.

Because its a cross party problem Squiggle and you only posted a report about Labour MP's and no mention of the Tory's or Lib Dems involved
Obviously he didn't want to mix with the plebs, but paid for a plebs ticket
Well all I can say Dame is that it was in my paper this morning, I haven't heard of any other recent ones mentioned, but I am happy to stand corrected if you know something I don't. My point is still the same, they are all the same.
loada bollox all these mp's
scrounging, trying to save every penny
same as the rest of us..but they're beyond reproach
we're just scroungers
Can't remember who said it but I thought it was a very wise remark someone once said. 'Anyone who expresses an interest in standing for public office should be prohibited from ever doing such a thing' It's never gonna happen but you do get a bit fed up with the people who are only in it for what they can get out of it.

The DM has the story up with just her mentioned followed by all the usual "Champagne socialist hypocrites" comments from their readership.
Fair enough but I thought the Tory party that claims to believe in self-reliance, the work ethic and bigs up the private sector while trashing the public sector as wasteful at every given opportunity, might not want to be seen filling its boots on state-funded freebies.
As you say Dame_ann, it's not just Labour.
It's like a script for "The Thick of It", which got binned for being too farcical.
I'm glad somebody remembered that 'the thrasher' works for the 'plebs' and advised him to sling his hook. Wonder if anybody knows who he is in a few weeks time.

Now how did I guess that was from the Daily Mail I wouldn't use it to light a fire, considering every other newspaper and news channel reported the story a tad more impartially and named members of all parties, I would have though the Daily Fail would have at least reported this one right

Isn't it, you couldn't make this last few month up
I don't think the DM can help itself. On a different planet.

Yep, you lefties are getting your pound of flesh.
Where were you when Labour MP's were upto no good?
Can someone tell me, when was the insult "pleb" an upper class insult to call the lower classes?
Im certainly not upper class in anyway but i've heard the pleb insult for years and years from where I grew up and went to school....but according to the labour party only the upper classes have ever heard of the "pleb" word and are the only ones to ever use it as an insult to mock us common folk.

And maybe that's the problem. I don't mind someone being of a higher class than me, but when they use the word like that.........no!

TBF, the whole country was up in arms over the expenses scandal. It didn't matter which colour had done the deed. Mitchell represents everything that's wrong about this Government. Cameron can say as many times as he likes that we are all in it together, the perceived wisdom is that we are not.
Its history,,,, you had you had the Roman patricians (upper class in simple terms) and the plebeians (lower class)

BUT the word pleb is used by any class of people, i've heard of that word, im sure you have, but Labour MP's have jumped on this as a Toryboy insult....but it's a random insult that could have been used by anyone to anyone, IMO.

Im sure people who are working class have called others "plebs" in the past, just as a random insult.
It's just a word.

That's not true at all. Anybody who uses the expression does it to insult (unless it's done in a joking environment). It's a put down, pure and simple.

Yes, of course I've heard of it, but to my knowledge I haven't used it in a derogatory way to people of a lower class than me

but we now have David Laws back the cabinet, was never taken to task about his expenses although found guilty by his peers of claiming 950 a month rent to pay to his partner ... and then we had a Labour MP sent to prison for claiming 13 thousand pounds... you couldn't make it up
But it doesn't have to be used to a lower class to you, it could be used as just an insult.
well it associated with the lower classes, and he would have know that....

Of course it's to insult someone, but it's not always used as a class based insult...it's just a insulting negative name to call someone.

I beg to differ. I think it is 'class' based

But do you think in that split second he used that word (and he still says he didn't say the word) that he thought about the history and real meaning of that word...in the heat of the moment? I doubt it.
He may have used it in the spur of the moment, as we all do from time to time when we use an insulting word to someone. lol

well if you think its ok for a member of parliament to call a police officer a pleb and a moron ... if I went out on a Saturday night and said that to a copper here, my feet wouldn't touch the ground until I landed in the back of a Police van.
Boy oh boy, have Labour and their idiot leader (who can't talk properly) jumped all over this like a tramp on chips lol.

So why didn't the copper arrest him straight away then? that is very odd in itself.

That's the problem. He didn't think before he spoke (whatever he said) and if he had he might not have said it
