As they are new I have not yet seen one in the flesh. But as I understand it, they are effectively a browser and you do everything (including word processing etc) via the browser.

Your files appear to be stored in the cloud (I bet they have some method of local storage - I see USB ports).

From a quick first read, it looks like they could be ideal for anyone who mainly surfs. I would bet that as you read more you find it has more functionality, like gaming via downloaded apps.

The price looks very attractive and I was thinking of getting one just for surfing. ÂĢ199 looks very attractive to me.

I tend to avoid reviews on Amazon and look at other on-line tech sites, taking in reviews and user opinions from a wide range of sources. I think it's limitations will be down to how large and diverse the apps store is. I believe this has a lot of potential and is backed by a very large organisation. It's worth seeing how things develop. I never jump into new tech at the very beginning. I let the early adopters find the wrinkles and wait until things settle down.

There is no denying that the price may give it a good start and the momentum they need to get the product moving - we shall have to wait and see.
