I always watch American Idol.  I think that just about every one of the final 24 is way better than anyone we've ever had on the X Factor.  I was really sorry that Brett Loewnstern and Robbie Rosen got eliminated last week, but there are some really good people left.  I love Casey Abrahams and James Durbin, and also Scotty McCreery, although I can't think of any sort of music that I loathe more than country.

Yes, I agree.  I doubt she would have got beyond the first round of Hollywood auditions.  I agree with you about Naima Adedapo - how could the judges have picked her over Robbie Rosen?

And while I'm on a stylist rant - Jennifer Lopez has looked a mess She's stunning to look at and has fantastic skin but I think someone with a white stick has been picking her frocks for the live shows. Last week she had a one shoulder asymmetrical silver sequin dress and silver thigh high pop sock/boots combo, this week it's a black polka dot bubble dress with a mesh top and cap sleeves. Doesn't work

I have NO idea, Growls....Robbie in boot camp was a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

Oooh here comes Pia, good voice but too mainstream, not interesting enough. (yet - she may grow on me)

I had to pause again - spring rolls a visitor

Just saw the toothy girl sing Leann Rimes 'Blue'. Randy said she was boring - he was right.

Jacob has just sung I Believe I can Fly - weird, that arrangement was ALL over the place I can see what you mean SuzyB (and ello! x) - I was blown away by 'House is not A Home' but tonight it's just too crazy.

It's on ITV2 on Thursday and Friday nights...you've missed tonights one (I'm on ITV2 +1 and it's nearly finished) - but its repeated on ITV2 over the weekend a few times. It's in a totally different league to the UK in terms of talent and there's people like Berry Gordy in the audience!

Ella they guy you're thinking of is Casey Abrahams (the bassist). I love him too Not technically the greatest singer but he's just ace on stage

DON'T DISS THE MATT! Matt's one of the best contestants the UK has had!

But yes, I think you'll be rather appeased at the American one. The contestants who get turned down at base entry level are better than some of the UK top 10 finalists. Plus the American auditioning process is a hell of a lot tougher, they really put them through their paces and they haven't got time for sympathy votes.

Although I have to say I did prefer the judging panel of Randy Jackson, Kara Dioguardi and Simon Cowell.....J-Lo I'm finding a bit hard to relate to as a judge. Steven Tyler....hmm ok...Randy Jackson is the only one who I feel can give an 'umbrella'd' opinion (cos he's worked with such a variety of artists)

Steven Tyler deserves more than an hmmm ok to be fair. He does know his stuff, just gotta break in a bit more for me! (But I think he's an ace artist and person)

Oh and the new panel is brilliant!  It needed a good shake up and Steve Tyler and JLo are great additions.

Thanks Karma....Casey just has something when he performs, love the show he gives.

And yes Prom you won't be dissappointed by the talent on AI.....it blows any series of X Factor right out of the water and the fact there are no mentors makes the judging MUCH fairer.

Karma I think they're just finding their feet.  I loved Steve through the auditions and JLo seems to know a bit about what she's talking about but hopefully they now crack down on the singers and not just blow smoke up their arse.  Randy seems to have taken on the role of Judge who tells it like it is and I'd like to see the other 2 do just that aswell but on a whole I like this panel more than the previous.....probably just because it all got a little stale.
