I received an Amazon email earlier, I've never used Amazon!!! how did they get my email addy! I've not opened it

My dad got one of the fake Amazon emails, but didn't click on any link/download anything, because I had told him about your warning. 

Just noticed two of these "Amazon" mailings in my junk box. I didn't go anywhere near them of course, but could tell from their mailbox entries that they had attachments. Someone's obviously working hard over Christmas...

YUP watch out for those bogus Amazon posts. I use Amazon a lot so have to be extra careful now.

There is a very simply way to tell if an email from Amazon is genuine or not.

I've been getting loads on my main email account for weeks - so called order numbers don't even look like Amazon ones but the biggest give away for me was that I don't use my main email account for Amazon - I use a hotmail one so I knew it had to be fake.

I've also noticed I keep getting whats app messages saying I've got a message - my messages for that appear on my phone so I know I have no messages but sweet baby cheesebus you don't half have to be aware of things to get rid of them.

Gotta wonder why there is no block button to stop these emails coming through even to your spam box?????  I imagine the provider gets paid somehow which is why they won't allow us to block the sender

The email sender address will be "something"@amazon.co.uk.

for example: amazon-offers@amazon.co.uk
