It doesn't. Guede was convicted at a separate "fast-track" trial. Contrary to some of the misreporting of this case, he's always denied the charge and claims that Sollecito and Knox did it on their own. His conviction was upheld on appeal and is now final, but both the trial and appeal courts found that others must have been involved.

So do I ....and it can't help but colour my judgement on the case . I think it's probably going to be one of those cases , like the Madeline McCann  , that we might never know the answer to . 

As I see it she was carefully primed and ready for the guilty sentence such that she appeared on TV almost instantly, carefully dressed, coiffured and made up and weeping. I particularly noticed a photo I saw that had been taken of her clutching a tissue posed at a table where she looked entirely composed when trying to look tragic. 

yeah she seems 'cold' like McCann parents-its hard to find sympathy even though theyre innocent-or so they say they are

That is SO true  very good comparison. 

 

We hope that we are never affected by such an horrendous personal tragedy. Rather like the McCanns we missed the course on how to react.
It appears that the Knox family have taken advice on the matter.

There's something hot about her.

It goes much deeper than that with Amanda Knox, though. With the McCanns, it's just a problem about appearances - there's nothing beyond that.

With Amanda, however, you've also got the repeated changing of her story, the inability to answer straight questions and the repeating of the same false accusations (Callunia) that have already cost her prison time in Italy, and will almost certainly lead to further charges if/when she returns there.

 

The McCanns' problem was that they couldn't express themselves in front of a camera. Knox's problem is that she expresses herself only to well. She can't stop herself talking, and she keeps putting her foot in it every time she does.

 

I recently saw this posted on a discusssion site, and I thought it summed up the current PR campaign pretty well (I've edited out the beginning and end comments for context, but the central text hasn't been touched),

"Amanda is the greatest liability of her own PR campaign vs previous campaign after the first guilty verdict when she was in jail.

She cannot be idealised anymore.  She talks too much and she sounds fake imho.  Most of her problems in this case come from talking too much, she was even arrested for talking. 

She calls Meredith “my friend” as her conscience dares not name her. She has pre written phrases and she never talks about details, facts. 

Innocent people insist to return to facts and details of the events over and over without a script and chronology to show you once again they are innocent.

She cannot fake tears, she has these pauses which are just a technique to allow her to think what to say next, not genuine looking at all. 

She says “i was expecting better from the system” same words of the press release ... people do not talk like that ... plus as i said innocent people change words to express various situations ... she says “it hit me like a train” when it is obvious she was fully expecting it ..."

Another time she gave herself away in her language was in her early statements to police. She told them she wasn't sure whether she was in the house or at her boyfriend's... to explain her varying accounts, she said "that was the best truth I could think of".

 

Normal people telling the truth don't talk like that.

I don't like her either and think she's either hiding something or in it up to her neck. There is a hardness about her and she has dead eyes, she has never shown any concern for the Kercher family and is very me me me

Not for me. I`ve always felt sympathy for the Madeliene`s broken hearted parents.

I always thought she was guilty, and still do.

 

She changed her story 3 times and on the day her so called best friends body was still in the apartment and the police were crawling all over the place ahe went off with her B/F and went shopping for sexy underwear, that is just not normal for ANYONE who has just found their best friend dead in their apartment.

 

And on the day of the second verdict the Italian B/F just happened to be on his way to the Austrian Border, he claimed he was going for a holiday as he assumed he'd be found innocent lol, ROLLOCKS.

He went back and relinqushed his passport though.

Wasn't he caught on the Austrian border trying to get out of the country on the day of the second verdict?

I thought they said he was coming back after needing some peaceful time (whatever that might mean) and willingly handed over his passport once back over the border.

You may be right, but I heard they stopped him at the border...just like everything else with this case it's confusing.

He didn't "willingly" hand it over: the police arrested him at a hotel near the border (Austrian and Slovenian) in the middle of the night and confiscated it.

It does sound like he had been across the border in Austria, but came back when he realised he wasn't going straight to jail. Austria and Slovenia have extradition treaties with Italy anyway: the real risk was that he might then go elsewhere.

 

Sollecito's been considered a flight risk for ages, so this little escapade didn't come as a surprise. He's been spending a lot of time recently at a known Mafia getaway in the Dominican Republic (whenever you look deeply into this case, you often find the Mafia lurking in the background). There was also the recent story that he tried to get an American girl to marry him as part of plan to keep out of jail (and apparently he'd tried to propose to Knox first!)

Bit of a heads up: “Is Amanda Knox Guilty?” – BBC3, 9pm, Monday (repeated 8pm Wednesday).     

    

I was wary of recommending this, because most of the (English-speaking) media coverage of the Meredith Kercher murder trial has been truly awful, and although the BBC’s coverage hasn’t been the worst, it hasn’t exactly been amongst the best either.

However, this programme is directed by Andrea Vogt, who is easily the best journalist reporting on the case, and is produced by Paul Russell, who’s written a book about it.

 

Apparently it will include interviews with members of the Kercher family, which I think makes it the first time they’ve got involved with a documentary about the murder…
