Writing up minutes used to take me days Soops!!  Trying to make sure the right info was in them, it was politically correct, & the correct actions & all that put in. I HATED typing up minutes...
Me too, fortunately I have admin to do the 'first job' and then I just spend forever 'finishing them off.' ....Seems to me that one of the issues getting into the mix here is that those of us who are 'perfectionists,' and probably on a half decent salary are often willing to spend extra time, outside of contracted hours to make sure things are well, 'perfect.' and  that we.get personal satisfaction from that. That's of course, a v v different issue to someone who is on the minimum wage presumably, being told that they have to work additional time to clean the loos etc.!

You know Scotty, I do think that that makes a difference. I'm not sure why I should think that 'cos it's not logical, but I do think that those on 'professional salaries' somehow are different to those who get paid an 'hourly rate' especially if that's low pay/the minimum wage.
It`s not illogical Supes. Of course it makes the difference. Someone on a "professional salary" has a guaranteed wage no matter if they work less or more hours. i.e teachers marking books at home don`t get paid extra. It`s all part of their salary. Someone like duchess or any low/minimum paid "non salaried" worker are paid hourly...even having deductions from their wages for doctor`s appointments, as she`s just said. That`s the difference in defending not being paid for your 1/2 hour extra work. It`s all very well for others who are well paid to talk about "work ethic" principles. It`s a totally different ball game when you`re at the lower end, skint and being asked to work for nothing.

I'd say, if anyone is being a jobsworth, it's the cook.
I'd say she could do with going on some kind of staff management training, in her own time and unpaid of course, preferably in the school hols when she's off to Benidorm for a fortnight and she's told, 'tough you'll have to cancel your hol' to do this course'
Actually I've soooo got a picture of her in my head, a right misery guts, who the pupils loathe and who bangs pans around, probably with a wart on her chin and a broom up her bum!

I probably shouldn't say this but... tbh that is how I got promoted up from the minimum wage positions to the higher paid & eventually supervisory level ones...  cos even at min wage I was still a perfectionist.

I think its more than this half hour with duchess.. I think the problem is with the cook, her management style....  power gone to her head type thing.

Ah Super, I can picture her now.

I'm with Joe/Blizzie/Scotty/Super on this one. If the Cook wants Duchess to work an extra 30 minutes on Thursday, she should pay her for it.

I think we should go down/up/across there and do some leafleting/placarding/secondary picketing and stuff.

The workers! In a non-specific place, working for an unknown representative of the Boss Class. United! Will never be defeated! Hmmm...... Probably needs a bit of development.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww super i just adore that song. However - I had a re jig on my PC recently and uninstalled loads of stuff which I probably shouldn't have.

Anything on you tube now just sticks after about three seconds (I think it's something to do with Arbode whatsit whatever it is).

Has anyone any advice and can tell me what I need to re- install .......it'd make my night to hear that song.
