Former Abba member Agnetha Faeltskog is coming out of retirement to release her first album in almost a decade.

The 62-year-old singer's record company said the release, called 'A', will come out on May 13.

Described in the media as being a recluse, the vocalist said in a statement she could not resist a return to the studio after nine years.

"I never thought I would sing again, but when I heard the first three songs I couldn't say no," she said.

"I hadn't written music in a very long time but when I sat down at the piano it came to me very naturally."

The first single from the album, 'When You Really Love Someone', was made available on digital music platforms iTunes and Spotify on Monday, along with a music video on YouTube.

The album includes the first track co-written by the star in decades, as well as a duet with British singer Gary Barlow of Take That.

Indeed! However IMO we are suffering from a lack of new music. Caitlin Moran was saying the other day that we live in bland times. Take a look at the bands who are touring and you'll find that most of 'em are from previous times. No matter how much we dislike ABBA I can't blame Aggie for having a go. (This does not apply to Summer Time City-one of the best songs of all time)
