Hira is a much nicer person than Bea.

Thumbs UpWhich is probably why bea has her in her sights as a target. Hira outclasses bea in every department.

Unbelievable, wasn't it?
She was trying to make a point about cultural differences, but then went and put her foot in it big time. She clearly has no understanding whatsoever of the Sub-Continent's cultural diversity...

Hira was "proper" friends with Noirin, and very pointedly spoke out against Bea's "Team Marcus" idea. So yes - I think Bea's found her next target. Trying to imply that Hira is "isolated" and a "fish out of water" in house are no-doubt just the opening shots...

I don't recall her saying that at all. Will have to rewatch!

It was kind of thirty minutes in....the best bit of it was, marcus then spun her hira observation completely around to shoot her previous thirty minute monologue to ribbons. Big Grin

I would like to hear the conversation with the university thats been firing a laser at the moon for the last 39 years that it was only a Christmas party joke that got a bit out of hand.

its not the firing, its the carefully placed reflectors that bounce it back to allow accurate measurements to be taken that would take some explaining Wink

I saw it but dont recall Bea mentioning India. I agree Marcus turned it round on her quite well, showing that an 'isolated' person could be more independent than one of the crowd! Personally I agree with him. i think people are far more questioning these days and less likely to blindly follow leaders! Although I share most of Bea's opinions about alienation and lack of community, one benefit of this is more independent thought , as marcus suggests!

Concentrating on Bea: what annoys me about this is that she likes to think of herself as open-minded and a "free-thinker", but her comments last night (not just regarding the apollo missions) showed her to be narrow-minded and as much of a sheep as the people she'd no doubt criticize.

People like Bea think they are showing individuallity by not accepting the "official line", but because she clearly hasn't done any research and doesn't understand the science involved, her own views are only based on what some conspiracy theorist has written.

I believe the Moon landings were genuine: not because I want to believe, or because it's the "official line", but because I've studied the physics and researched it, and come to the conclusion that wealth of evidence is on the side of them being genuine.

I heard Bea suggest that Hira would fit in better in BB India.

But I did agree with her point about Hira being independent from the group, as opposed to a vulnerable outcast, which negated Marcus' point.
