I'm naive - very gullible - just believing what people tell me without question. Only much later does doubt set in and I realise something's up 
The Irish have a phrase for it - "cop on"
Wish I was able to "cop on" sooner ie have that streetwise perceptiveness some people have. Being able to read people / spot a wrong 'un is a definite skill.
Like when the Saville stuff came out I stood up for him initially where many here on Gaga felt bad vibes about him.
