A sad update on Mum.

For those who would follow my updates about my mum and her cancer, I have some sad news. Today she was told that she only has 'months to live'. The tumors have progressed in her head and most likely her body. She's only 54, I'm only 28, I don't want to lose my mum yet.

Absolutely devastated and sorry to have to bring this news to you. I will also probably leave this forum for a while but I don't know, it may help pass the time.

Thank you all for your support over the last couple of years, mum really appreciated it.

Rawky I am so so sorry to hear about your mum....My dad is terminally ill so I completely understand the hopeless devastation you must be feeling....Please don't leave the forum ,stay around and let the FM's be a source of comfort for you as no doubt you will need it darlin.....God bless.

Thats such sad news and i really feel for you. I was 11 when my mum was diagnosed i think i was lucky that at that age i didn't even know what cancer was. My mum is still with us and i am glad of that every day.

Thank you all, just after a few of your messages as convinced me to stay.

When she saw her oncologist 3 weeks ago, she asked him if things have gotten worse, can you still treat me? To which her replied 'yes, there are many options'. When she went in today she saw a different doctor (as her oncologist is away, sking

) who told her the news.

She's going back in next friday to see her 'proper' oncologist, to see what he has to say for himself.

Never give up hope Rawky. With my mum they said up to six weeks max and she lasted another six months, (brain tumour)

... not alot that I can say to make things any better for you ... I lost my mum to cancer back in 2006 so I know exactly how you feel

As an afterthought, my uncle was given 3 months to live due to cancer but lasted 2 and a half years.

Stick around on here Rawky, there'll always be someone about if you need to let off steam or need a distraction x
