I'm confused why do we need a poll? Surely if it's breaking news we put spoiler in the title and if someone makes a mistake it's just that, a mistake, there's bigger things in the world to worry about and the last thing we need is more people leaving or falling out of a title of a thread, what we do need more of imo is threads talking about what's happening.

I would agree, but the ways of old seem to have been forgotten and people want rules.

Reading through the thread, most ppl don't want rules, just a chance to talk about what's happening in CBB.

If you saw spoilers in the HL thread why didn't you just pass comment in there and remove them, under PM to the member explaining why, instead of starting this thread? Everyone knows spoilers need an alert, we've all been around forums for yrs but as has been said many times mistakes happen and the way you dealt with them is what has made things worse.

 

The least you could do is admit this thread was unnecessary.. it was like you were treating people like little kids.. and that caused one member to leave.. in all honesty if I was pengy I'd not have left, I'd have posted a pretty strong message in here to let you know exactly what I thought of the way you dealt with things.. but everyone handles things differently. .

 

I may have worded that ^^ strongly [it was even stronger before I edited out what I really would have said if it had been me]  but, I am not the only one who thinks you handled it incorrectly and yet you haven't said sorry that you made a mistake too ... those that accidentally posted spoilers apologised.. your turn...

I think it's gone way beyond what should have a 'spoiler' tag - it's not really about that now, it's just got petty and mean spirited.    If anyone wants to deliberately post a spoiler without a tag (and it's been said often enough 'breaking news' is a spoiler) - then go ahead.   I think it's mean, but hey ho.

If anyone wants to actually read what my opening post said, you will see that there was no suggestion of not talking about stuff that hasn't aired in the HLs yet., quite the opposite.

Just hope you think before doing a similar thread in future where a PM or a quick post in a thread would have sufficed.

If we have Mods we need to know they will do a proper job. .I, as a member of this forum, am entitled to say if I think they have fecked up. .  you  are entitled to disagree, but you are not entitled to censure me..

The problem there is, once the new HL thread appears the old one kind of disappears. If I had seen that, without going looking for it, because of what you just posted. I would have apologised there and then. 

 

But, I still don't see the necessity to start a rather patronising titled thread about it. You could have sent me a message. I didn't post it out of any malice, it had appeared on my Twitter feed from all sorts of sources, so I thought it would be common knowledge. 

 

What I am very sorry for, is that poor Pengy seems to have took the flack for it. If I had seen your post in that HL thread before now, I would have said that this thread was directed at me & not Pengy, and then hopefully she wouldn't have felt the need to go. 

 

The problem here, and I mean the forum in general, it's all gone a bit Lord of the Flies.

I'm a member of this forum too and I'm entitled - as we all are - to have my say as well.   Your continual whingeing about the Mod situation on this forum is well documented... are you on a continual rinse and repeat or is there any chance we can be spared this repetitive ordure?

 

Don't post a comment and then tell someone to mind their own business.

For one it's rude and secondly, a post is there to be responded to.  For someone who seems very keen to tell others about forum entitlements you appear to have overlooked that point.

 

And, for the record, you've banged the drum ad infinitum about how you think this forum should be run and criticised it at every given opportunity.

My opinion is that I'm extremely relieved that you're not a Mod.

Another opinion I hold is that you're hounding for the sake of it.

My final thought is that you should park your broomstick and do as Madame and Jackson advised - leave it, let it be.

OK, I have tried to stay out of this as much as possible. I think you guys all know that I prefer to let you work things out, and I am hoping that the days of needing to lock threads and move them to the Troll Tank are far behind us.

 

So. I'm not going to lock this thread, at this time. However, I do think it's time to move on. Fluffy has explained herself, and she should not be being raked over the coals. 

 

Please. Just move on. There's no need to say anything further: it's pretty much been said, and we pretty much know how everyone feels.

I think it's cos I am not a Mod on here so I only have a member hat on and feel a bit freer to join in things without censuring myself all the time. .

 

Places where I am a mod/group owner I always have a Mod hat on and react completely differently, in fact I stand back all the time from general debates and surprise surprise I mediate a lot too  . . 

 

ah well, I still stand by my points, I just could have been a  bit more diplomatic about the way I said them as others that felt the same way have been.
