I agree with you all. . and I don't think adding the extra bit at the end to the title of this thread was necessary, it just highlighted the point and made it even more embarrassing .. it almost comes across as a smacked botty for a naughty child..   it isn't like people needed reminding anyway, accidents happen..  yes it can be annoying if it is a spoiler you don't want to see, have felt like that myself on occasions and said so where the spoiler occurred but, I've got over it..

I think a change of title and friendly reminder in the actual thread was all that was needed, if that, as another member not a Mod could have pointed out that the thread title needed changing within the thread..  that is how I would Mod things... as much as I can growl a lot about stuff I am completely different when I Moderate forums or groups and think hard about any actions I take and their repercussions..

Fluffs I think you owe pengy an  apology for making it into something it didn't need to be by making a sticky, thus causing her to feel embarrassed and leave.. I'm sure your intentions were good but you went about it the wrong way... IMO anyway

Well quite, surely a mod-post in the actual thread and a change of title would have sufficed. I'm not sure it really warranted a whole separate sticky thread

I don't see that Fluffs has anything to apologise for, she asked for spoilers not to be posted and tried to make it  a bit light hearted.

It really is a shame that anyone had to leave over this,I hope Pengy comes back too.

Jackson, I'm sorry but she made a whole big thing of it by stickying it and then added a crass almost sarcastic comment to the end of the title i.e.  'didn't think we would need reminding after all this time' I think she may have thought that would make it light hearted but it doesn't come across that way.

She only needed to have a polite word via PM to Pengy before changing the title.. or ask politely in the thread..   big fail ...

i agree especially with the bit in bold... and if people found fluffs post offensive, they should have taken it up with Fluffs privately - instead snidey little comments have been made to those who prefer not to see spoilers and they whole things grown arms and legs all because some of has asked for ONE word to be added to the odd thread title.   I'm not apologising for the way I watch BB - it's not BB as we know it.   People leaving the house is a biggie and as you've said, since there's no live feed to speak off it IS a spoiler till the highlights show's been on.  

I'm sick of 'oh so we're not allowed to talk about this'  - of course you are... I simply asked that if you think it might be a spoiler say so in the title.   I'd have left it at that and I thought Pengy was fine - we've all done it.   I like Pengy and I'm sorry she's gone, but I think there's more than Fluffs to blame for the current unrest.

There is no current unrest Kaffy  ......just a group of people who are sad to see Pengy go ...and have first hand knowledge of why she did . Plus I think it is very valid to question why we are no longer allowed to post curent stuff . We moaned like mad when we lost LF and the posts put up by C5 on FB/Twitter/App are the closest we can now get ....but we are not allowed to discuss them openly .

Nobody says you can't discuss stuff and I think continually restating that is a bit inflamatory - I can't say any clearer that I don't see why for big issues 'and for big issues - it's something that makes you say 'oh I need to let people know about that' that there's a warning given - or I guess (as has been stated already) I'm not allowed to enjoy the show AND the forum - I'm supposed to chose to stay away from the forum - sorry, not gonna happen.       The irony is nobody posts about the daily goings on anyway - sadly.

I know Fluffs isn't to blame for how this thread has grown and all comments made. . plus I am all for saying it as it is ie what you really mean and I don't like comments that imply stuff rather than say straight out but, if Fluffs hadn't gone around it this way it wouldn't have been here to grow.. and as has been said it really isn't that people need reminding to post Spoiler alerts and accidents can happen..

The Jeremy got kicked out thread didn't have a spoiler in the title but was clear it was something that if you didn't want to know you wouldn't open.. we had one thread with a mistake that was all..  other main topic threads could continue this way too with care in the titles, there just aren't any.. .

I don't think we are being told we can't discuss BB in that part I just think the way the forum is now no one bothers so only the HL thread people probably have a chat about BB stuff as the rest of us are not going to come in a day later to a huge thread that covers a load of different subjects and those that contributed have moved on..

Also not all of us are willing to pay money just so we can PM someone  [a free service on all other forums] to 'discuss something privately' so that is not a possibility for most. Fluffs however has got that ability free of charge as she is a Mod .. I've seen her deal with things by singling people out in public before, it is not how I think Mods should behave.. but then again I was never in favour of FM becoming mods anyway as I think it should be strangers not known people.. jmo tho

No one says people aren't allowed to enjoy the show and the forum ....in fact I think most of us are saying the exact opposite. But can I just say , re Pengy's thread , loads of people had been happily posting in it all day ...including EFFT and Mrs H ....with no mention of it being a spoiler .....it wasn't until the evening that it came up .......

I personally think if you are that afraid of reading something about BB before it is shown on the 'highlights' show, you should take responsibility for yourself and not enter a forum entitled 'Big Brother' until the highlight show has finished.

    I only saw it in the evening.. same as I didn't see the news that was apparently all over the internet.   So I AM being blamed then?    I'd appreciate that being clarified.

TBH, with the running commentary on the right, can we really still talk about spoilers? The HL show never throws up anything I haven't read there and that's without 'wasting' my time trawling the internet.

yes. I only read the thread titles when I come on to see if there's anything new/interesting.  I honestly couldn't tell you what's on the right because I don't read it.   I would have to make a point of it and I don't.

The highlight thread pretty much just starts and ends with the show, Olls.   I miss the days when (possibly because a lot of people only had 'net access work!) you'd look in on the morning and there would be a host of threads about the previous days goings on  - there would be threads like 'what did you think of Alicia and the bananas'   'Do you think Ken is really sexist/racist'  'Is Michelle transgender' and instead of a couple of comments about them in the HL (which would still happen) people would actually talk about the hms/issues ongoing.    As you say though - it's the same BB, so I guess people just aren't that into it or are talking about it in other places, like FB and Twitter - which I just don't think is the same.  Call me a dinosaur (I've been called worse)

BIB I loved the morning when you logged in to see what everyone was saying. .It was my morning waking up properly thing, along with copious cuppas.. 

I also used to love popping in after a stint in the LUT to see what everyone was saying... I still skim DS too but rarely join their threads. . they get too long and have too many weirdos..  

I haven't seen last nights show yet, too much other stuff to watch last night, and I fell asleep a few times watching them as well and at 2am thought time for bed, so it's recorded to watch this afternoon but, have seen mention of bananas in a few threads ..  am intrigued now

I do watch the C5 clips if I can and altho they are spoilers for the HL show I've found that even those are clipped for the show so an important part is missed out from some parts that I feel was relevant..  then again I used to LUT the action and watch the HL shows to see how they twisted it as I found it fascinating how they changed a stories emphasis to something complete different to the truth of the matter... the HL shows were often a totally different BB to the one that was going on in the house.. another reason I miss LF. . altho I don't miss the fact I had it on all day in the background and got months behind on other stuff that was being recorded. .best bit was the call to LUT when it all kicked off... great fun but exhausting sometimes. .no longer up for stuff like that anymore.. too old now   

Fair enough kaffy, but I'd say quite a few ppl do. If we don't want to know anything in advance, maybe we should lobby to have the link removed.

I don't think we need to do that, col.. it's there for those who want it and those who don't, don't have to read it.   It's not like it's in your face.  

As I see it, there is a problem between FMs who want to continue to talk about current "goings on" in the BB house, in the way that we always did when there was LF, and some FMs who don't want to know what has happened until it has been shown on a HL's show. 

To those who say, well, we don't have LF any more, I say that Ch5 repeatedly tells us we have video clips on their website as well as Twitter and FB to replace LF, which is supposed to keep us updated. Are we supposed to wait 24 hours before we can talk about what's happening, or should every BB thread be a spoiler?

As far as I'm concerned a spoiler should be used for the names of those nominated for eviction and on eviction night when evictees names are sometimes on the internet before it has been shown. Kaffs has a different criteria for what constitutes a spoiler, so it's subjective, and that's why I have asked, more than once for clarity - from Lori, not other FMs.

It does seem ridiculous imo that we are on a BB forum but are being told to discuss what's going on in spoilers. Go on other BB forums like DS or TIBB and see their thread titles - virtually every one of them would be considered a spoiler!

Can I just ask yogi, why it's so difficult to say 'this might be a spoiler' when you're posting about something 'big' - and don't say what constitutes 'big' because I think someone walking, or being thrown out is obviously (subjective of course) a big issue.

I'm aware of what DS is like, that's why I don't go there, but obviously (although my post above is being ignored) that's what people want me to do 

If I'm honest, it feels likes it was blown into an issue because Pengy got upset (I wish she hadn't) but Mrs H also posted a spoiler as did someone else.   I'm willing to bet nobody would have batted an eye if it had been a slightly less prolific and popular FM.

What's difficult is that more and more seems to be falling under the umbrella of "spoiler". What might seem a big issue to you and therefore deserving of a spoiler, might not be such a big issue to me. 

Lori could clear this up in a minute by telling us what needs to be in "spoilers", otherwise this issue will crop up again and again.

Pengy is a very popular FM and I really hope she comes back, and I like to think we (as a forum) would be upset to lose any FM over something like this.

Can I make a suggestion ....if we are self governing .....and in order to clarify things ( and prevent a repeat of this in future ) ....maybe we should hold a referendum .....someone could do a poll ....something along the lines of *Should the term spoiler be restricted to nominations , evictions and finalist results * .....or however they wanted to word it. Just a thought .

I'd like it to be worded that Noms and Evictions are a given...    and an option to vote if people leaving the house, either by choice or kicking out should be a spoiler item.

The HL show is usually yesterdays news tho...perhaps just a question asking if we agree with news given as it happens.....as like the old LF days. With perhaps no news given for noms and normal evictions, without a "spoiler" in title of thread?
