I didn't say you did, I said that I wouldn't.....hence if some news was 'all over fb and twitter,' I would be highly unlikely to see it.....However, if people want to do that, that's entirely their choice, we all use our free time as we wish. I fully get why, for example, people miss lf during the day. Would I watch it if it was on: No, definitely not.

I really don't get what all the fuss is about tbh, surely it's not difficult to put 'Spoiler' in a thread title and then those who want to know  what happens in advance can read it and those who would rather wait until the HL's can choose not to

It was me who initially used the word courtesy in this thread.

I had no intention of it being bandied or otherwise.

I'll go back to my original point which is that spoilers are rarely malicious and just one of those things.  To be picking holes and being pedantic about the inner guts of such a thing seems totally ridiculous.  Even more ridiculous when you think about the poor sod who goes and makes the latest mistake and finds themselves probably embarrassed about their error.

And then you find that they've cancelled their membership.

In fact, when I read one in the hl thread I unthinkingly quoted it and commented. Does that mean I should leave?!

The easiest part in this topic is that a spoiler is a spoiler and always has been.  We can have a gazillion spoiler threads for all I care; the idea is to not put in the title what the spoil actually is.  Isn't that how it's always been?

As far as I remember.    I don't see the point in 'rules' - what are we going to do, report each other, get each other banned?    Everyone's posted spoilers in error, I know I have, I've apologised when I realised, everyone moved on without making a drama (or maybe nobody gave a shit if I got grief  - hey ho..)   I think it was the same with this one - it was pointed out, Pengles slapped her forehead, everyone said they knew it was an innocent mistake.    On that note.. I'm going to let it lie.

there were others yesterday - one in fact I quoted and put a spoiler alert on as it contained a link to a news item made from info from a press release showing all what was going to be shown in last nights highlights show

That's the big issue for me, Katty. What's the point of being on a BB forum if you can't discuss what's happening? I understand that some people don't want to know who has been nominated until it airs on the HL show and don't want to know who has been evicted until it is shown, but to suggest that everything that is happening must be in a spoiler thread until it is shown on tv, defeats the purpose of the forum, imo.

In the olden days, if someone posted a spoiler a quick oops change the thread title or remove a post reminder by another person posting in the thread was all it took, not a full blown sticky..

Believe me I do understand the frustration of seeing a spoiler. Only a few weeks ago I was in a thread about something and someone posted the result of something entirely unconnected with the thread  which was a spoiler for me as I hadn't watched the recording of the thing they said the spoiler about and had steered clear of anything likely to give me a spoiler.. was very annoying yet I got told off for pointing it out as it had passed so wasn't a spoiler apparently.., but to me it was a spoiler and wasn't even anything to do with the thread I was in .. so yeah I do get how maddening it can be but also understand it can be an error too..

Re the is this  BB forum anymore point that was made. 

As there is no LF to talk about the actual current days and nights goings on as they happen, it means there are no longer discussion threads about current stuff which was the norm in the past..  But sadly that also means no new discussion threads are started about single incidents from the previous days goings on shown in the HL show that may be controversial and warrant a bit of a chat. .

dunno if they go on in the HL show thread but am buggered if I am trawling thru the thread the next day for a chat on stuff that has been chatted about within the thread and no one will be joining in as it is in the past for them.. That is why this no longer feels like a true BB forum anymore.. on DS they at least have threads you can read or join in about the separate things going on in the HL show if one chooses to have a natter about them.. I miss that part of things in here..

The minute this sticky went up, I spoke to another forum member and said Pengy would not come back. whether is was a general reminder it stemmed from the original non-spoiler thread that actually wasn't a spoiler, it was events that was happening in the BB house at the time.

Pengy had already said sorry for actually posting on-going events in a BB forum, that would have been truly hard to avoid when we had hundreds of members posting and really that should have been the end of it IMO. She must have felt dreadful coming on and seeing a sticky because I sure would have and probably reacted much the same as her.

We really have lost a lovely forum member and good friend to many, I truly am gutted.  I hope she does come back, but I am not convinced anything will change her mind.

This part of this site is dedicated to BB, but this makes it appear that it's only acceptable to discuss events in the house while the HL show is on. 

This particular event was all over social media & TV media so it would have been difficult to have avoided it. Plus I also posted about it, probably about the same time as Pengy started the thread.

I hope  pengy comes back. 

I personally think if you are that afraid of reading something about BB before it is shown on the 'highlights' show, you should take responsibility for yourself and not enter a forum entitled 'Big Brother' until the highlight show has finished.

I hope Pengy comes back and joins in the 'fun' of chatting and moaning about Big Brother and the housemates we love to love and hate in equal measures.....xxx
