I rarely get involved with 'baiters' but if they (very subjectively) overstep the mark and start to expose their agenda by directing their toxic ramblings at named peeps (whom I like / respect), I find it difficult to keep my mouth shut. Why? Because, I suspect, that they thrive on knowing the masses are biting their lips. I don't get angry though; their opinion would have to mean something for that to happen.

if an fm starts a thread and folks, having looked at that thread, decide it's a thread designed to stir folks up,then why does everyone, who feels a bit miffed about that thread all leap in and keep it going? answers on a postcard please 'specially if they have a view of canterbury cathedral on them.

and then why when it's been put in the bin and locked does some 'well meaning' soul make a new thread referring to it to keep it going some more?

It wasn't just one thread though, it was several as the first thread didn't get the result intended.
Unless there is some history between Cinds and carotino that I've missed, I can't see why carotino's thread was in any way goading, or stirring.

carotino seemed to be jumped on from a great height, for wondering whether Big D was ever going to post!

Oh, and someone else bumped the original thread by Cinds.

As far as I know, there wasn't any history, which made it all the more confusing.  Cinds asked, very politely, if he was referring to her husband and didn't get a reply.  So, instead of answering, another thread was started.  Then another and another.  It was very difficult to ignore after that.

I only saw two and the first one seemed innocent enough and yet people were irritated. If there is no history, then the reaction is quite bizarre.

carotino is always random and I've never seen him stir.
I though we all knew him well enough, by now.

There was no negative reaction to his first thread.  As I said before, Cinds asked him if he was referring to her husband.  I thought it was very random, and shrugged my shoulders.

The second thread was about adding 1+1 = who?  Still a bit random, yet blatant that he didn't believe that Cinds' husband had actually registered.

The third thread was where it all got nasty, "who wants to be in my gang?"  You can still read that in the Troll Tank.

I never thought Carotino was a stirrer until then.  Why he decided to start stirring all of a sudden is something I don't understand at all.
