Stephen Timms, Labour MP for Newham, London has been stabbed in the stomach by a woman who has been arrested. You will be glad to know that his injuries are not life threatening and he is sitting up in bed at hospital. He is extremely popular in his constituency and won by the largest majority of any MP.

I am sure that you all will want to wish him a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with him and his family.
