Oooh it was thrilling. A full grown female deer. We were driving along this really quite frighteningly steep road in the woods near Woody Bay and suddenly she shot across the road and then jumped down this steep woody bank. I'm so glad I saw her but I'm never driving that road again so narrow

'Citing!
All we get around here are cocky foxes, who saunter across in front of you, looking at you with attitude and sporting 'gangsta limps'!

Three jumped out in front of us last year. I can honestly say I nearly shat in my pants.

Was it a gang, or was this three seperate incidents?
There's a lot of Red deer and Roe deer where I live and they're always causing problems on the roads. They come into my garden almost on a daily basis now whereas it was quite an unusual occurance to see a deer in the garden.

there's a bizarre law where if you kill one with your car, it's illigal to pick it up but the car that follows you can or summat.

Is there? I only ask because I did hit one - a few years ago.
Thankfully I was driving a big old Saab and going at a pace. According to the police if I'd have been doing 30-50mph I'd have been a dead 'un.
I called the cops as soon as I did it as I wasn't sure if there were any laws regarding deer...you know, like being protected because they came from a private estate etc.,. Upshot was there's no special rules for them.
But seeing as it was slap bang in the middle of a dark, but busy, B road I stayed until they came to move it. It was huge and I'm surprised it didn't do more damage to my car.
And yes, I was pretty upset by it all.
if you hit it by 'accident' you can take it .... i have memories of my uncle mike coming home in uckfield east sussex with a stag tied to hi suzuki jeep with bunjee things ..... my aunt was not impressed lol ....
you should have seen what it did to the car :/
