I just wondered if we could write our own guidelines on how we conduct ourselves in this new forum. Nothing heavy just our hopes and dreams for happy posting.
I'll start:
I would like for everyone to be acknowledged by the OP if they have taken time to reply to their threads. Even if you don't know the FM, a little smiley to say their participation has been recognised is a nice gesture.

Anyone have anything to add? Smiler

Nice thought, but impossible unless you sit glued to the forum 24/7

Be respectful to each other and let's just enjoy ourselves.

Thanks Liverpoollass! wavey It is nice for FMs to be afforded the decency of a response from the OP. I know it is not always possible but it is something we should endeavour to do.
Smiler

Although having said that, it's not always possible as some threads can move dead quick and it is easy to get over-looked Smiler

It is obvious within 5 minutes sometimes that your post is being ignored. When the OP cartwheels over a reply to answer another. I do agree that it is probably impossible to acknowledge everyone but we can try. Nod

I agree, this is a public forum after all. Good points.
very worthy of the Code of Conduct Lainy M. Nice to see you wavey

Sorry, I don't agree. I don't acknowledge everyone who replies to a thread, not because I'm ignoring them, but usually because I have nothing to add. Can't see the point of posting a smiley just for the sake of it either...

Can't understand why people get their knickers in a twist about it really Confused

Hi, hey why dont you devise a proper code of conduct when you have received a few more ideas. It could be used as a 'sticky' permanently, like a erm 'OUR COMMUNITY CODE OF CONDUCT' sort of thing.

I just feel you wouldn't ignore people in a verbal conversation. If you have nothing to add at least you could nod. Perhaps a little smiley could be the equivalent of a forum nod. I just think it promotes camaraderie and welcomes new people to get involved. That's all. Thanks for your input though. wavey

I like that idea Lainy, I really do. It would be unifying for us FMs in our new house! Nod

i do agree with that, a little smut here and there is fine without ever needing to get too graphic and as you say it can be so much more fun, although obscure refrences can always be looked up on google if need be.

anyone who remembers the classic "breakfast" thread on bbgf will know what i mean. (but even without a single naughty word the mods still deleted it of course).

It might take some doing Triggers but I reckon that the majority would go for it, however I dont think it should be as strict as C4 as Trollop said, but we dont want trolls in our new house F'ing off every other word.

Exactly...come on people...many people felt C4 was overly moderated...

They wanna try Digital Spy for heavy moderation.

Thign is, forums like this (and C4 forums) are massive, the memberships go well into thousands (this one will grow) Mods can only do so much, mostly they act on reported posts/threads. If the listened and responded to every single little gripe there would be no real moderating done.. It is up to the individual how they conduct themselves, they feck up, then get suspended or banned.

Nothing is perfect.

I just wanted us to think about how we are with each other on here. I am not advocating constraints on any of my fellow FMs. Smiler

Laugh ...i understand what you're saying though triggers......sometimes it might feel like everyone gets a reply but your post gets pushed aside......but to be honest....i think it's more the fact either people have nothing to say in response.......or the thread is moving quickly and it just gets bypassed......it doesn't really bother me....i'm just happy posting away in me own little world!!!!......
