I was shopping for a duvet as i'd just started my 2nd year of Uni, my friend came bombing down the road in his car shouting "get in, get in" we sped home and watched it for hours... just couldnt believe what was happening before our eyes, we all screamed when the 2nd one hit.. never forget that day, no one ever should .. RIP the victims Angel

I was working from home that day and heard the news flash on the radio. I switched the TV on and phoned a colleague who was also at home and told him to put his TV on. I felt I needed to know some other human being was seeing this too. We watched the rest of tragedy unfold 'together' I will never forget seeing that second plane hit. I've gone cold just sitting here reliving it in my head. RIP to all those who lost their lives.

I was at home having coffee with my mate...we watched it unfold till I had to get the bus to school to pick up the kids...the towers were standing when I left home but by the time I got to school the news came though that the first one had gone down....the headteacher was in a bit of a panic cos his brother worked in one of the towers...thankfully by the time he chatted to the kids to reassure them, the next morning, he'd found out his brother was safe having been late that day.

An almost 'snap' Kathy. Yeah, watching the second plane strategically circle and hit was, for me, one of the worst bits. The unfathomable horror for those on the plane.....knowing. Shake Head

Doesn't bear thinking about, does it? Poor, poor souls - and anyone who had anyone who was on the planes or worked in the Towers, can you just imagine. It so surreal to see it - and hope to God we never witness anything like it again - although we already have, I suppose to a lesser extent. Off to work now - and won't complain today, I don't think. x

I was with my Mum in the hospital - she was having a bone scan to see if the cancer had spread to her bones as she was in so much pain.
She was there all day so I popped out to the shops in the car, and heard it on the radio - by the time I returned to the hospital my Mum had heard too - the telly was on in the waiting room.
A truly awful, awful day, which I will NEVER forget.

i was in st pancreas train station in london...waiting for a train to get home. playing a game of snooker in the pub with my then BF (he lived in london). was the day i found out i was pregnant with my eldest....yet more memorable for the wrong reasons (9/11) Frowner
the tv was on and i wasn't paying attention at first (was football or something boring). then there was breaking news and it went deadly silent, there was a huge crowd looking at the telly, mouths wide open in disbelief. i started watching just as the second plane hit..live. Disappointed

LOL!
i have no idea-honest!
and what made it more odd was at the time i was living in a muslim area, in fact, i think i was the only non-muslim on the street and the girl I was living with back then was pakistani-and SHE didnt know anything about it till we put the telly on
normally the neighbours would pop in and out-but NOTHING.. Eeker
very odd indeed

Do you mean 7/7?
Or as the Americans would call it, 7/7.
A couple of my mates were caught up in that. Terrifying.

its really sad, it brought a tear to my eye hearing the families and the calls... those poor people, i just can't even imagine it.. watch it alone and with tissues - its worth a watch Kaffy

Go to youtube and type in 'Loose Change' its a 2 hour documentary (so only if you have time). I'm not saying its all true but it will certainly make you think, especially about the 'phone calls'.

we decided to stop working for the day so we could all watch it on the news, heard the initial report of the first plane on the radio, put the tv on to see what was happening before the second plane hit, local college students were sent home at lunchtime because they feared violence as the many of the islamic students were celebrating.

Its actually 90 mins:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E3oIbO0AWE

It just talks about the conspiracy of the whole day. The most notable moments are:

'No-one reporting of seeing any plane crash into the pentagon'

'No DNA found of anyone in the pennsylvania plane crash'

'Bombs being set off in the buildings'

'the phone calls were from actors'

As I say, I'm not saying its true but..... Ninja

I was cleaning the house and i had the tv on in the background, my step daughter was off that day ill, she screamed something about the twin towers so i went in to the sitting room and there it was one of the towers was on fire and we both saw the second plane hit we both started crying, my OH came home after that and we watched CNN for days after.

May I refer you to my previous post from 9/9 ?

A shocking day.
My first day back at work after a holiday.
I was driving home from an early shift and a guy on the radio said that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. I assumed some sort of small plane/middle age heart attack combo.
By the time I got home it sounded more serious.
Switched the tellybox on and I think that I stood in front of it for a couple of hours unable to move.
A few days before I had a meal in an Afghani restaurant in Hamburg. Later we discovered that the terrorist cell had been based there.
I also remember some immediate bad taste stuff afterwards, emails suggesting that Israel was responsible, an inside job, American secret service, and all sorts of other dingo's kidneys.
