I met him in a pub. It used to be called Sound And Vision in Dean Street (London). He was on the slot machine. I was in a goff band and asked if we could play support to Motorhead. He told me the heavy metal crowd would probably throw bottles and stuff at us . I said that might be kind of cool and he said no mate you really don't want to do it

Ah Germany- The stepping stone for bands who used to play Working Mens Clubs here-- remember it well. Was in a band meself, but spent most of the time on the M6 breaking down.

I would kill to be in a position to kill Black Sabbath (two murder counts for the price of one) . If I ever hosted a quiz show on TV it would be called 'What The F*ck Is There To Like About Black Sabbath?'. It really is the eternally unanswerable question. In fact, most 70's rock  bands were dull beyond belief but as they were all competing against each other to outdull each other as it were everyone just got used to it.
