Labour are never hitting that 2030 target. The Tories put it back to 2035. Clean energy

Seriously, are you buying a heat pump?  Listen to the radio - they don't work. Horror stories all over.

If it ain't broke don't fix it

Fix EV charging points - they're all bust. Feck, electric cars - what's the battery expentancy - 5 years.

Obvs. I can't spell but who cares.

Dreamland to look good.

Seems a pointless target when the likes of China & the USA have no intentions of cutting back on their emissions and even if they did, there is no way we can achieve what the Government are asking in such a short space of time. Getting everyone into a reliable network of electric cars on it's own is not going to happen...and covering our whole countryside with solar panels when all we get is clouds - madness!

I was about to say much the same
Heard something on the radio the other day about floating wind platforms on the North Sea to generate power in place of extracting oil, But also mentioned that oil is needed for purposes other than power so would still be needed.

I heard that the likes of Amazon are acquiring land (council fix) to plant trees on or solar panelling to offset their carbon footprint ......no wonder the farmers are being got at if that's what the government are intending

Happy working El

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, some sunshine forecast. Wasn't as cold a night as the previous two nights and no frost.
Bad weather tomorrow and Sunday, looks as if there will be several bands of heavy rain with less heavy rain in between, possibly even no rain. That's probably why the BBC site is showing a 70% chance of rain .

I hope everyone has a good day

There's a bit of a patchwork of snow left here this morning El.... which the sun is slowly sucking up
Let's hope the rain forecast doesn't cause too much damage

Stay dry folks!

Although there's widespread rain warnings (snow further north), it seems that it's the  southern counties in England and the east side of Scotland which also have a warning for wind.
So I hope you don't get any damage from the wind over the weekend, Slim

They can become a bit of a slip hazard if left

Near where I live is a public path which is a quick way of walking from one road to another. It goes underneath lots of trees and slopes. At this time of year it can get rather slippy due to the leaves (and in cold weather, icy). For me it's the quickest way of getting to a nearby shop. I'm always careful when that path looks slippery

You can buy straps that go on your shoes to grip the ground when it's icy/slippery, I don't know how effective they are as I've never tried them. It might be worth giving them a go if your council is as bad about clearing leaves etc like ours is

I do have a pair of walking boots which have better grip than ordinary shoes

Good morning everyone

Windy here, heavy rain forecast throughout the weekend, much milder with a very mild night - a low of 14°. Could be around 20 mm of rain today and 30mm tomorrow (in the afternoon there's a relatively thin band of rain which could go on for many hours).

I hope everyone has a good day and stay safe
