our moms, dads, grand parents were making a trip, into the unknown, so they didnt get hit by the bombs

VERA LYNN is top of the charts-again-how cool is that..?
70 years down the line-WE'LL MEET AGAIN-DONT KNOW WHERE DONT KNOW WHEN BUT I KNOW WE'LL MEET AGAIN SOME SUNNY DAY..

makes me proud that my dad chose this country to settle in

My mum and dad stayed where they were...which for my dad was in Crayford where he saw lots of bombs cos the bombers used to fly up the Thames to London and for my mum was in hospital for most of the war.

My father was deemed medically unfit for active service so he did war work in our then home town instead and they also had an evacuated family stay with them.
