Strikes me this is another money pit with no discernable benefit.
The main man talks like a politician, when asked about the escalating costs he says "we have to square the evolving nature of the project as it goes forward" (that's me paraphrasing).
So what he is saying is that the cost will escalate year on year and become the UK's biggest money pit of all time.
Something else we need to do a u-turn on in my opinion.
...and I bet the taxpayers of Scotland and Wales are paying for it too.

There have been calls for a U-turn on this for a while now........from all parts of the UK as it will only benefit a small part of the (mainly Londoncentric) population.

I see it as a way of getting people to London quicker rather than enabling the so called Northern Powerhouse.

Northern Powerhouse....what Northern Powerhouse? again politicians paying lip service and telling us things they think we want to hear 
I read the cost of that. Think it's a grand plus to a ÂĢ100 mile off road.
