My ears are bleading!!!!!
Why were we subjected to some female caturwulling - supposedly 'SINGING' the national Anthem as if it was a popular song!

They've just by-passed Beacher's Brook on the 2nd circuit. I think there's a dead or badly injured horse and/or rider!

It sounds like it's the horse Saint Are. No more details at the moment: there was a jockey waving the horses round Becher's, but I'm pretty certain it was not Saint Are's rider.
Update: as I'm writing this, they've announced that Saint Are's been taken to the stables for assessment.
OK: apparently Saint Are fell at The Chair, not Becher's, so it was another horse or rider being treated there. I've a feeling it might have been the horse I Just Know, but we'll have to wait for more details.
There have been no other reports of injured horses or riders, so hopefully they were all right in the end.

I did love the way that everyone joined in though Fluffs ... maybe it was to try and drown her out !!
I turned the sound off at that point. I get embarrassed when anyone sings our National Anthem
I totally disagree with this barbarism and would ban it immediately

There's been a lot of confusion about what exactly caused the concern at Becher's Brook (I saw a BBC News piece which incorrectly claimed they were swerving to avoid Saint Are), however the final word appears to be this:
"Of the 26 who failed to complete the course, Saint Are, ridden by Ciaran Gethings, a late replacement for Adrian Heskin, who took a tumble in an earlier race, was treated on the course and then moved to the Aintree stables for further assessment.
The field bypassed Becher's Brook second time round as jockey Charlie Deutsch was being attended to, but he was not seriously injured."

[Deutsch had been riding Houlbon Des Obeaux.]
