I have just googled UC. What a flippin nightmare 
Per the gov.uk site:
Universal Credit will replace the following benefits:
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Working Tax Credit
So doesn't look as if it replaces disability living allowance. I think UC replaces those benefits which can be claimed by people who are working or looking for work.

I had heard that on the news a few days ago but that wasn't the specific reason I posted about universal credit. The universal credit system has been having computer problems ever since the implementation started causing years of delay in it being fully done across the country (which was supposed to have been several years ago). The delays have been heaviliy criticised by the national audit office. Government computer systems implementations don't have a good track record of being on time.

Working it out it get paid 4 hours minimum wage per day for my Mum and Dad together (2hrs each)

I would rather be at home where I am appreciated than at work where you're not. I'll never return to care work - it's so corrupt.
Even some of the disabled people are savvy in a negative way, one said,
"If I don't like you I can get you sacked"
I love being at home - it's not like 'work' at all
. . . and I have to say DWP have been quite helpful and understanding
