The problem I've got, EC,  is that Monday TV nights are still incredibly "busy". 

There's just so much on tonight that I'll be watching the repeat on Thursday instead.

As a solo artist I have seen concert footage and he really seems to put on a high quality show. His last album is great if you have seen the live show.

He always came across as thoughtful, reflective and composed.

Yet his behaviour - sexual dalliances and drug taking were the exact opposite.

I never fully understood how he became both

An incredibly troubled man, but what an artiste too! 

I've never understood constant screaming at a concert. What is the point?

You can't hear jack sh*t apart from your own screams and you must get zero enjoyment out of the show.

Oh, I didn't know he'd covered a Seal song   

This damn disease/condition    Took at least two of the world's best artists too darn early  

I think it's great that GM is putting some meaning behind the songs/albums for us. We lose too many people and don't know enough about the motivations behind their music.

At the end of the day all he was doing was singing songs

He was a millionaire and could have stopped any time

Being wracked with issues are not a music industry thing - it was his thing

Not to be unkind or without understanding he could have been a quiet musician, making music and retiring to a peaceful life

Paul McCartney does it

Still love his music

Wish he could have used his intelligence better though

Well that's left me with a tear in my eyes.

Really enjoyed watching that documentary.

Sad he's gone, but great musical legacy left behind - and that's something I would not have said as a youth listening to Gary Numan, Ultravox, Talking Heads and Sisters of Mercy and their like.

That's why the Beatles stopped touring: the deafening, ceaseless screaming just made it a pointless exercise.

Will always miss the fact that I never saw him in concert
