a bit flat after christmas/new year

youre neither here or there

its cold but theres no cosy fairy lights to cheer you up

the tv put the best (?) programmes on over festive period & nothing good will come on 'til spring

ronnie & roxy are dead

has mick killed oz?

will lee take the blame?

will gobby hopkins go into CBB?

i reckon this is quite a moody month

especially this year when trumpet is in charge

i might put the fairy lights back up

I have to be honest at becoming rather melancholy on New Years Eve.

Whilst others celebrate I become quite morose.

It's not so much the ending of one year and reflecting upon it nor the beginning of another.

Nor is it the 'holiday blues' - although January is a rather pointless and turgid month - back to the grind, no fun, no celebrations, everyone who gathered has gone . . .

It's the understanding that for someone out there, perhaps the happy soul you see splashing through the fountains at Trafalgar this will be their last year or that tragedy awaits them and they haven't got a clue.

For someone it's an inevitability - the New Year they welcome will destroy them .

I hate January

One agrees with agent EC. Best month of the year! A blank canvas on your kitchen wall. A whole year spread out in front of you. Lots of plans to make. The knowledge that it's the best part of twelve months before the next bunch of disruptive social control nonsense. Thank Bog.

Depends who you've got around you
