Andrew Sachs, most famous for playing Manuel in the classic comedy Fawlty Towers, has died.
He'd had dementia for the last 4 years, and passed away last week.

Truly sad news
The kind of guy you'd wish to have as a father or uncle
Never knew this -
Sachs was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2012, which left him unable to speak and forced him to use a wheelchair. On 1 December 2016, it was announced that he had died the previous week, on 23 November 2016, in a nursing home.
Sad news. He seemed like a very nice man.
Sad news terrible disease.
What I find almost as sad is that reading John Cleese tweets, he makes reference to how Sachs' wife told him a few years ago that Andrew was suffering with memory problems. Such a shame that Cleese could not take the time out to visit the gentle and kind man, as it was clear he was in decline.
They played all of his lines on R2. I'm a bit of a captive audience today.
Very sad ....he seemed a nice man ...loved him in Fawlty Towers .....and as others have said , yet another victim of this dreadful disease RIP
BBC1 are showing the first episode ("Communication Problems") of the second series of Fawlty Towers at 7.30 this evening as a tribute.
Nice one El Rolio
Everyone needs an Andrew Sachs in the family.
I'm sure he had a good life, God bless him

Just watched it - Brilliant.
Russell Bland and Jonathan Ross strangely quiet on Twitter today.
Both of them Tossers.
R.I.P Andrew Sachs.

Yes, I agree Vids, couple of buffoons, having said that I never liked Brand and as for Ross I lost any interest I had in him after that. However when the story broke I researched the girl in question. Calling her career "Burlesque" was being very kind indeed. Having said that, they should not have done what they did to Andrew Sachs a complete lack of respect for him and his extended family.
Surely for sheer cheek one can't beat today's Daily Mail cover.
