Lib Dem Sarah Olney has won the Richmond Park by-election after Zac Goldsmith resigned his seat and stood again as an Independent. She's overturned his "Conservative" majority of 23,000! eek

Goldsmith was trying to make it a protest vote against Heathrow expansion, but it looks like the LIb Dems have successfully managed to turn it into a protest vote against Brexit. The result is yet another political miscalculation in a year full of them!

One interesting little fact: Olney is now the Lib Dem's only female MP!
