Isis is creating the mess in Syria and we along with the USA led to the rise of ISIS. A great phrase I heard today was "patriotic correctness".

The new "PC" is not about emboldening values or language that are central to liberal democracy, like plurality, equity or tolerance, instead the new norm is nativism.

Step on the toes of alleged patriots and you will be subject to aggressive patriotic correctness. Don't dare speak up for refugees, decry racism or argue for plurality and diversity of culture.

No there isn't, they had to cross several countries to get to Calais, and theres a huge body of water between Calais and us...geographically they should stay on mainland Europe as that's the first place they landed on....the ones who have no connections with the UK might want to come here but that doesn't mean we have to let them in or have any responsibility for them.

Remember, they are running from terror, they just want to be safe, that's the narrative we keep being told...well, they are already safe in Europe.

The Guardian is just as bad...you just can't trust the newspapers, or the regular media in general.

Normally papers print the things people want to read but it's dangerous to generalise. The Daily Mail is always to be congratulated for the Steven Lawrence investigation and the fact that they dared name the criminal families and corrupt police officers involved.

The Sunday Times is Murdoch owned yet had an even handed report about the girls and boys who came from Calais at the weekend. It's also full of anti-Brexit experts.

I suspect people aren't aware of how the Guardian works. They have columnists who write with a variety of opinions.

the guardian is on its last legs-i dont know how theyre managing to still be in print-NONE of the MSM papers or news outlets can be trusted anymore

remember the days when a member of the public had a story to tell/sell & journalists fought for that story?

i agree with this article but may i point out facts-us british have to look after our own

just because i havent seen my parents for several years & have put them in a care home & have stripped their home & sold it so i can go on a super holiday, does NOT mean i dont care about refugees

i mean if one of them wanted a job cleaning my house-£2 an hour-i'd employ one

i hear those types are grateful

You obviously didn't read the article or if you had you would known that this wasn't propaganda.. it is about the attitude we have in taking refugees and don't tell me that xenephobia or racism isn't on the rise, you just have to check the police reports...40% rise since Brexit. I actually rarely read anything in the Guardian..that link was passed onto me. 

Me, I just think whats happening now in not so great Britain is disgusting, what happened to humanity and what makes us superior to anyone...and that's the last I have to say on the matter.
