Yes, I have held and fondled one of the new £5 notes.
They are a little smaller and have see through bits on them.

we've had plastic fivers up in Scotland for a while.
just checked,since march 2015.Still don't see many.I've only had a couple.

A fascinating insight - certainly an eye opener.
I would never try to defend any of it but also feel the knowledge and insight we have today compared to the past often explains why they felt justified in their actions.
Not all of their actions however.
I also think its never good to have heroes.
