Exactly - if the BBC considered loyalty they would have saved it for it's millions of fans

Hollywood had to accept it, he's not got loads lined up TV wise, MB doesn't need it she's loaded and Mel and Sue do other things....The good thing is, Turdoch paid 25 million for Paul Hollywood

Without Mary, Mel and Sue, I honestly don't think I will be tuning in.

Mary - there is no loyalty.
If Bake Off had floundered or if you'd put a foot wrong they would have dumped you in a heartbeat.
Playing Devil's Advocate... where was BBC's loyalty when they let it go?
(I'm personally glad they didn't give Murdoch ÂĢ25m)
Or equally, where was Love Productions' loyalty when they demanded that the BBC up their offer by at least ÂĢ10 million?
Ultimately, the BBC owes its loyalty to the license fee-payers. Now arguably they were caught in a dilemma with "Bake Off": don't pay, and they get criticized by the fans; pay, and they get criticized from everyone-else for wasting the public's money. Personally, I think they were right not to succumb to what was essentially extortion.
And why am I not surprised that Murdoch's got a finger in all this?

Exactly, Eugene. I think Richard Osman's comments are the most rational I've heard http://www.bbc.co.uk/programme...name=radio_and_music
