This is a re-creation of the flight which has been released today as a tribute. It is 99 minutes long. The screen remains black at the beginning of the film - it is not a bug.

Was a bit too young at that time. I have no personal knowledge of it.

From 1961 to 1969 they went from first manned space flight to putting a man on the moon.  Nothing really since apart from some faffing around with communications satellites. Shame really, I suppose if you had your childhood and teens in the 1950s and 1960s you'd have expected colonies on Mars by now and all that other Dan Dare kind of stuff.
