It's a shame that it's being chipped away at ....no pun intended ......but I guess times are a changing  

Ummm... is it really that big a loss? A quick google will find you any recipe you like, and stacks of versions of it.

I see because of an online petition the BBC aren't going to closed down the recipe website but move it to the BBC commercial arm

Well Rog, my understanding of recipes is about as good as my understanding of mobile phone and IPad operating manuals. Thank goodness for Bazzy for the latter

Well Rog, my understanding of recipes is about as good as my understanding of mobile phone and IPad operating manuals. Thank goodness for Bazzy for the latter  

Aww likewise Moonie  I don't have an ipad -  too fiddly and complicated!!! The smartphone is only used for listening to mp3s. I have a regular phone for talky + texty stuff  

Only recipes I follow are Deliah's   She makes it so simple... down to boiling an egg!

I sometimes use the BBC website for recipes and the Good Food one.

Delia's recipes are foolproof, Rog.

The food fight sequence from the 1966 Czech film Daisies (a madcap arthouse nihilistic farce):

The end reminded me of The Wars of the Roses... 

Roger, that film Daises (Sedmikrasky in what was Czechoslovakia) is one of the strangest films I've ever seen and is as you say bonkers. It was banned by the Czech authorities at the time of its release in 1966 for its wanton destruction.

The clip I posted doesn't show that before the 2 women started the food fight the table was laid out with a banquet. The women start gorging themselves with the food and drinkfor several minutes before the food fight. At the start of the scene of them gorging, the music is from Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle - Gotterdammerung which is English means Twilight of the Gods.

The film doesn't make it certain but it's thought that the film director had in mind that it was a banquet for the communist leaders which is why they would have been very unhappy.

How interesting, thanks El Loro . Yes they lived the high life by all accounts.
