"A huge wildfire raging in the Canadian province of Alberta is growing further and could spill into neighbouring Saskatchewan, officials say".
Taking out the awful position the people of that area have found themselves in, I was wondering what the impact on the environment will be given the size and duration of this fire.

Although the fire is having a dreadful impact on the lives of so many individual people, the environmental impact will probably be no worse than when one of the world's volcanoes erupts.

if you remember the one in Iceland it was quite impactful with respect to debris in the atmosphere and flights. Just thinking on the amount of burning going on, this seems to be bigger than most in recent memory. It also seems to be moving on and approaching Saskatchewan.
I would have thought they may have felled trees ahead of the fire line to create a natural barrier, maybe it's way too big to do that.
It's awful
tragic and they expect it to carry on for weeks
They need a horrendous downpour of biblical proportions

Almost impossible, Canada is pretty much a giant forrest!
