AC/DC are certainly not cack. I thought you had an ear an all...

I think I've commented on here before that I rate the Cult but can't see the appeal of AC/DC at all!  I know the general consensus is that the Cult were the (inferior) British AC/DC, but that to me sounds like a weaker Cult song, something that I'd think was a weaker song on a Cult album as it sounds inferior to the Cult's best work.  The vocals are weak, the lyrics are lame and musicianship is sub-Cult.  That said, I quite like it but I really can't stand "Thunderstruck" though!   I concede that I might have misjudged AC/DC a bit.

I am an AC/DC fan, I also like the Cult. In all of my years I have never heard a comparison of the Cult with AC/DC.

I really havent. I would never say they were inferior to them. To me The Cult were more (80's) punk rock as opposed to AC/DC being blues rock.

Each their own I suppose.

Oddly enough I saw t'Cult supporting G n' R!

I wouldn't put them in the same street as AC/DC either or Punk Rock. Quite a heavy band live and a bit more melodic.

I thought the Cult were Goths... albeit quite rockin'! We've opened quite a can of worms here

Only up to the Love album.  After that, starting with Electric, they really signed themselves up to Heavy Metal.  The synth into is just an example of the mid 80s pop video fad for boring leading scenes before the main song.

I wouldn't describe this as Goth in any way.  Musically nor lyrically.

I wouldn't put them in Goth category either. But wiki does.

I loved them as a teen, but to be honest until 'She Sells Sanctuary' I hadn't really heard of them.

THIS! ^^^^

If it includes me. I'm in!

That reminds me of a C4 thread where you and various others (including me) jumped on the settee and started giving it some with the air guitar

Although I am still laughing at comparing The Cult to AC/DC. NO comparison.

I agree, the Cult were infinitely superior to MTV corporate bores, AC/DC!  Thunderstruck has to be the most retarded rubbish any Beavis and Butthead teen has ever banged their brainless heads to!

Tell me Cinds, is all AC/DC as cack as Thunderstruck?  I'd like to think it isn't as I do like Heavy Metal when it doesn't stick to the corporate formula.
