Yes, it's on the BBC One news tonight.
Shocker!!!!
Not the biggest fan, but I did buy into a period of his albums.
Rest in Peace Purple One.

Hard to process... its incredibly sad. He was mind blowingly talented and original, and gone at just 57. RIP Prince xx

Also, not a big fan of wrestling, but WWE star, Chyna, passed away today too.

Yes. Lots of teenage memories evoked whenever I hear one of his tracks. Then there was the amazing Sinead O'Connor hit that he penned.
RIP Prince.
Yes Rawky. I used to watch WWE. I've just been reading about her too
I really liked Prince, there were some reports he was ill the other day...I think he had to leave a plane, I really didn't expect this though...RIP
Radio 1 Extra are playing Prince's music now - its more a techno station for a younger generation - yet it doesn't sound one bit out of place or dated. Just shows how his music has a timeless quality to it.
The frequency of deaths is alarming
57 is no age at all
Freddie Mercury is singing from on high "And another one bite the dust"
Sad and surprising news. Although (like many) i caught the story of him being poorly last week i was certainly not expecting to hear of his passing.
For me "When Does Cry" is a classic and a beautiful slice of 80's pop music.
RIP Prince
Apart from Purple Rain, I can't honestly say I was a fan of his music, but 57 is very young to die. Very sad.
i have his entire collection of gramophone records and many bootlegs. Ironically I was out having a birthday celebration with friends who mentioned a rather bad taste competition in a local pub and I'm afraid his name was mentioned as an outsider. When I returned home there was a flurry of guilt ridden messages.
TMZ reports this,
Prince was treated for a drug overdose 6 days before his death ... multiple sources tell TMZ.
We broke the story ... Prince's private jet made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, hours after he performed in Atlanta. At the time his reps said he was battling the flu ... something we questioned because his plane was only 48 minutes from home before the unscheduled landing.
Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a "save shot" ... typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate.

TMZ can go and "do one!"

Almost as bad a s the National Enquirer
Its being reported the overdose six days prior to Prince's death, involved painkiller percocet [ highly addictive and contains oxycodin, an opioid ]. He'd had hip surgery back in 2010.
Just makes it even more sad somehow.
I've had Percocet - made me ill, went all wobbly
Had to take an anti-sickness tablet to counteract Percocet
I saw this earlier, made me cry, but in fairness, everything makes me cry these days. (Hormones + menopause). Anyway, apart from Jennifer Hudson having to read the lyrics (not slagging). It's wonderful.
