inspired by Adeles Brit performance, what is your best year in terms of how old you were at the time?
for me it would have to be 13-17... Care free, no worries etc... It was awesome!

I had a friend who had a baby that was 6 month older than my first born. It used to totally p*** me off because she used to look lovingly at her baby and say 'this is the best time'. So I would wish the next six months away and finally, when my boy had caught up she'd blinking well repeat it!!
I didn't see the brits tonight.
The carefree years were certainly a blast...
Oddly enough these last few years have been the best. We can pretty much do what we want.
We had just caught up with Happy Valley and then noted the Brits were on, Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman tributing and then a pretty dreadful performance by someone singing Bowie.
As soon as I realised that the Ant n' Dec were hosting I had to switch off. I'm probably too old for that sort of stuff.
Early twenties / University age maybe? Young, but had acquired a bit of common sense by then. I didn't like teenage years much... was too sensitive
I'm not a parent but I imagine raising a child must produce a far deeper sense of fulfilment.

In utero no doubt.

I mean in MY late 30s
I've struggled a bit with this one but if really, really pushed I think I'd say when I left school so maybe mid teens till about early twenties when there was a lot more family around me and knowing what I know now

I had to read it a couple of times to work out what you meant ,
I have never considered it, but I only remember earlier years in snatches or fragments of events. I am sentimental about events in time, especially music or film related, but cannot recall a long stretch of my life where I would say "wow, that was a great period of my life".
I do think that I don't get enough out of life. I have been too focused on keeping a job and not really don't the things others have for example I don't think I have had a proper holiday since 1999.
A bit like GJ I am hoping to gradually turn my working life balance into less work, more life. As usual, this could be scuppered by new internal policies where just wanting to reduce working days is now a want and not a need when viewed by the organisation.
