I have every sympathy with anyone anywhere having to deal with bad weather conditions, but when they first started talking of this expected RECORD BREAKING storm I had visions of people having to plough through six feet or more of snow......just to visit their neighbours!
So I have to admit to being a bit bemused when they talk about expected falls of UP TO 3 feet. I thought America ajways got heavy snowfalls in winter.

True, the main excuse is always "We're not used to this!" Well, I may be losing my marbles a bit, but I remember getting snow EVERY winter until VERY recently.

Reporter on TV said they were up to 7 inches at dinnertime (our time) they expecting about 2/2and a half feet by the end of tomorrow.
What I'm frightened of is that we normally get the back end of what they get 
we are supposed to get it here on Tuesday/wednesday in the form of heavy rain for a change 
Cos it's BIIIIIG news

I'm sure they are not posting in forums in the US of A about Cockermouth Castle all but falling into the river

Well, looking at that webcam it looks just like a typical snowy scene, There's probably fewer vehicles about than on other Saturdays at 5 pm, but nothing looking in the least dramatic!
I dunno Fluffs....You'd think NY....it would be buzzing.........keep an eye on that view when the storm has gone 
Watching the webcam now and I am bemused again. Why aren't they continuing to clear the snow and ice from the streets and pavements?
It's like "It's stopped PHYSICALLY snowing - so we don't need to bother anymore."
