It's not going well. Turns out I only picked up 200g of cooking chocolate when I needed 300g. Legged it down to the shop to pick up a bar.

Then realised I ran out of unsalted butter for the caramel... so I've used slightly salted... shh, don't tell anyone.

I then started pouring all the ingredients, for the caramel, into a pan and then realised the shortbread hasn't finished baking yet. So now it's all sitting in a pan - syrup, sugar, butter, condensed milk... that'll be okay to sit for a while... right?

Yes, as long as it's not heating until the right time.

I actually saw him last week for the first time in 8 years...

He said he was impressed with how well I've looked after my teeth, but I'm going to have a deep clean on Monday... after a taste of these shortbreads, I may need something else.

Honestly, I was actually disgusted with how much sugar went into making these. It has really put me off.
