On Alan Carr a couple of weeks ago, they had a thing were they had to make Toni Collette and another actress laugh. Now Toni confessed beforehand that she's a giggler, and wouldn't be able to keep a straight face.

Cue Keith Lemon furiously trying to make her laugh... her face was like this throughout. 

He's painfully unfunny i.m.o.

He just doesn't seem to be able to channel it into something bordering on faintly amusing.

In all fairness (me doing 'all fairness' :laugh Lemon is just another character of Leigh Francis. 

Lemon was mildly amusing initially, but lost it very quickly. As did Bo Selecta, his other incarnation. But he's milking this Lemon one.

Ricky Gervais is dire.

I've seen bits of him, never really caught much though.

Alan Partridge is Steve Coogan's genius comic creation, one of the best ever.

Ricky Gervais started out well (stand-up, before he got famous), but seems to have become a one trick pony (mostly) especially when it comes to the dire Hollywood films.

I did find Keith Lemon's bear character who's penis popped out quite funny when I saw a few clips.

Just picking up on some of the other points above, Alan Carr, he is shockingly bad and a clear sign that C4 made a signing they can't get rid of as he is always on C4 TV. I switch off whenever I hear his whiny voice.

Michael Hazen James McIntyre is another terribly bad comedian who makes pots of money out of being crap.

You can throw in Jason Manford, I think he has made about 4 jokes in as many years that I thought was funny.

I liked Leigh Francis when he did his "Bo Selecta!" impressions program (best was his Michael Jackson, IMO) but as Keith Lemon, I just can't see any wit there at all. 

I can't stand him - doesn't make me laugh at all.

Considering Keith Lemon only (and not any of Leigh Francis' other comedy characters), I've never found him remotely amusing and am continually bemused by the love that TV producers appear to have for him (and which they assume the GBP shares...)

And here was me thinking I was the only one thinking....Keith Lemon is an irritation that has been given a platform to irritate me. 

I never watched "Bo, Selecta!", but I quite liked Avid Merrion when he appeared on BBLB. That changed for me however when the BB producers started shamelessly using him to dig them out of the hole they'd created for themselves re Jade Goody in BB3.

Those with long memories will recall that Jade was initially very unpopular on BB, and it reached a head (partly thanks to Graham Norton) with the nasty "Kill the pig" banners and chants at BB evictions. BB panicked, and Avid was brought in to do BBLB skits as "Jade's biggest fan". This neatly got round the problem of BB presenters appearing to have favourites, but it gave Jade a huge amount of positive publicity not available to the other HMs. They even had Jackiey appear repeatedly as a "guest" alongside Avid - unheard-of publicity for "friends and family" at the time (F&Fs usually only being interviewed briefly on eviction night BBLBs).

oh gawd I remember that Avid character on BBLB. . talk of sniffing Jades knickers. . the Keith Lemon character is just as creepy and pervy too

I'm not familiar with the work of this Lemon chap but I like Steve Coogan and thought Ricky Gervais was brilliant in 'The Office' and 'Extras'.  

I loved The Office too, Madame.  I watch the occasional repeat and still cringe despite knowing what's coming.

I still watch the repeats, too, Cosi. 

Appalling though he was, I couldn't help feel a little sorry for David Brent when, after being made redundant, he went round to all of his colleagues giving out his business cards and telling them to try not to be too unhappy that he was leaving, when it was obvious that they couldn't care less.
