Maybe you need to take him to the vet,maybe has a urine infection,despite not wanting to,you have to do the best by him.

Will he eat cooked rice and boiled eggs?

we tried to get him to vets but we cant get him the car, and he's a right lummox, i thought if we could build him up a bit we might stand a chance of him actually getting to the car, he hates eggs & we've tried putting brown rice in his bowl but he wont eat it

i really am doing my best by him, honestly i am, ive not slept in my bed for ages, im constantly looking after him & cleaning him up

Aww pirate.. I'm still monitoring my wee jinks the budgie,he's still eating flying etc,but the tumour on his back is growing.He had a bad peck at it  about four days ago and there was a large blood spot in his cage..wee bugger does it when I'm not around with my cornflour to stop  the bleeding.I'll know when he's had enough ,he's chirping ald talking away nine to the dozen.It ain't bloody fair is it when our pets get old.

yep crap when they get old, its bloody heartbreaking, but i will take the wilf to the vets even if i have to give him a piggy back

what about adding a chicken or beef stock cube to the water the chicken/minced beef has cooked in and cooking the rice in that and then mix chicken/minced beef and rice together?

and vets ASAP 

yep ive added home made gravy to his food

Pirate, our vets will do home visits in certain circumstances. Maybe you could find one near you who will come out to the house to see Wilf?

he's a bit better ta, we've not took him to vets yet, we cant get in until thursday, and we're not sure he'll go in the car

cos we live by greyhound track a few blokes round here used to race the dogs, not literally, one came round to look at him y.day, he reckon s old age, and as his eating has proper picked up, he could've had a bug, he says vets will probably give him...i cant remember the word, but it brings inflammation down, humans have these tablets as well?

so we'll see how it goes on thursday

lisa & her mate just came in with a kitten, i mean what the actual F!

oh its ok they said it'll be company for him after minty

i'll give anybody the train fare to come here & explain why a greyhound who's never liked small furry animals & wants to rip them apart, would NOT like a kitten because its cute & will be company
