Katty, what a great caretaker you are. Your pets couldn't be in better hands...
I echo that. You take great care of your pets, Katty.

Well my wee boy is gone..I had to take him to the vet yesterday afternoon to get PTS. The horrible tumour had grown and he'd made it bleed a few times,it was affecting his walking,he wasn't eating much in the last few days etc and was getting miserable, time to let him go.I blubbed like drain.I buried him in the garden next to Rio Rabbit. Fly free wee boy.
Awww Katty. That's so sad. Think about the fact you gave him a good home....and a good long life
Awww Katty Sorry for the loss of your much loved wee pet xx It was kind of you to take Mr. Jinks to the vet, rather than let him go on suffering xx
I'm sorry, Katty. I know it's hard to say goodbye. He's flying to his heart's content, now.
I'm sorry to hear that, I know how fond you were of Mr Jinks.
He was a lucky wee budgie to have spent his days with someone who loved him and took such good care of him.
Really sorry to hear that Katty
Sorry for the loss of your little chum, Katty
thats sad, you did the right thing for the little bloke, words can seem a bit empty when you feel sad but i hope our words mean something to you and can help you in some way
for mr jinks and my minty girl
cos we cant help loving our pets
Thanks everyone,pirate...you made me blub again,but I don't care.
aww how sad, fly free Mr Jinks <3
sorry for your loss katty
Well that's all my pets in my photo gone, however good memories of them all, even the little grey bunny Cleo who was a right grumpy mare. She wouldn't tolerate getting touched or petted and would grunt and lunge at you, even if you were putting food in her cage. Got a few bites from her over the years,Rio,the other rabbit was a big softy.Girl buns are much more fiesty than the boys.
all the bunnies i have had have been boys, i have only had 3 (still got 2). My first one (sonny) was all black and an absolute sweetheart the two i have now, i got together to keep each other company, that didn't last long
one (smokey) is verrrry very nervous and shy, despite all my efforts to bring him out of his shell, but he loves the dog and he loves his morning chocolates so will come running for either of those
the other (toffee) is an absolute sweetie, he loves the dog and chocolates too, but he also quite likes me even when i haven't got chocolates
I don't want to be cheeky etc Barney ,but chocolate is not good for buns.Even the "safe " treats have too much sugar in them,as do natural food like carrots.Carrot tops(the fronds) are best.I don't want to offend, really I don't.

What the...! You could've used her as a guard dog bunny !!!

no worries katty, they are the yoghurt drops i buy from the pet shop are they no good? it would be a shame cos they love them so much, but you have to do what is best
Barney I used to give my buns them too, then on a rabbit forum they stated they still have sugar in them,I suppose a few are okay.
I've been looking at baby budgies......
I've been looking at baby budgies......
Are you tempted?
I've been looking at baby budgies......
Awww...of course you have!! How wonderful!
Give it a few weeks and we'll see,I'm still whistling and making silly chatty noises out of habit etc.The hamster sleeps during the day,so he ignores me..
When I lost my dog, it was a LOOOONG time before I stopped hearing her collar jingling in the hall...
Aww Lori we love our pets no matter their size ,my sister has a wee West Highland terrier the same age as my wee budgie was.
Very true, katty!
I have a friend who deals with the imminent loss by getting a puppy once the current dog gets to be elderly. Makes the grieving process easier to bear, for her. And we've been friends long enough that she's done this 3 or 4 times, now.
I will get another one,I'm sure, we had a budgie before Jinks called Dino he lived to seven and a half.Wee jinks was great age at eleven and a half.
That's a good idea really Lori
I've only ever had small pets apart from the rabbits, but their passing always made me blub like a drain. My current wee hamster is called "PI" he's 6 months old now,our eleventh hamster.Well that big old cage always needs a new tenant.
A couple of years ago we bought a house that came with a koi pond. We enjoyed the fish (even though fish don't interact with you much), and Mr. Lori worked very hard to keep the pond clean and the fish healthy. Last spring, I came home from running and went back to see them as usual, and all of the about 2 dozen fish were laying dead on the bottom of the perfectly clean pond.
It was very sad...Mr. Lori thinks he must have accidentally over-treated the water.
Anyway, a month or so later we came home with baby ducks...and they LOVE the pond (even though duck poop is FAR more work than fish poop, and so I've had to re-home 2 of the 4 ducks). Ducks are a lot more fun than fish.
