P.S. I've solved them all. Though puzzle 3 took a bit of thinking about.

Just looking at the puzzles would be enough to give me recurring nightmares about Maths lessons at school. *shudders*

Yes, very helpful. We don't need MEN getting in the way!
Good grief ....it's been a while since I did any of those EFFT
Are you sure Baz? The blurb said it was a NEW type of logic problem from Japan.
Have you seen/done the 4th one?

I think Baz is referring to the sort of area calculation problems that we all had to do at school. However what makes the Area Maze puzzles different is that you're not allowed to use fractions. By extension, this means you can't just go and create equations, which would be the natural mathematical approach to solving them, and so instead they become lateral thinking problems - rather different from the sort of thing you'd do in class.
For the record, I found the 3rd one the hardest, as it requires a fairly significant leap of thought to solve it. The 4th one looks intimidating. but is more time-consuming than anything. Most of the calculations are pretty straightforward, but you have to thread your way around the maze (as it were) instead of going straight for the solution...
