RIP George

He was 90 and died after a short illness.

Best known as Flash Harry in the original St Trinians films and as Arthur Daley in Minder.

His first role was in the 1941 film Cottage to Let when he was 16. Instantly recognisable and a sign of his better known characters. Alastair Sim and his wife took him (and his mother) in their home during the war and Alastair Sim trained him to become an actor.
