No, I likes the show, well the first couple of series. Not seen any of the newer ones though.
I've been watching reruns of the earlier series and like it, especially Karen. It's not all scripted some of it is ad libbed by the children and the parents then have to respond in a way that brings it back to the script, can't always be easy to have to think so quickly on the spot.

I've always liked Karen too, but a few years ago I saw Andy Hamilton live and when he started talking about "Outnumbered" I was shocked by how much hatred there was in the audience for her - most of it from otherwise respectable senior citizens, too!

How can anyone hate a young child??? she's a very young actress and for me she shows a natural age appropriate behaviour of some young children through her body language and the constant questions some children have because they're so inquisitive.

I like Outnumbered and recently bought the full set on DVD. I think they ended it at the right time, as the concept wouldn't work once the kids were all grown up.
I loved the early Outnumbered. .. not sure if I saw them all though as I did lose interest a bit when they grew up. The early series were brilliant though and the improvisation from those kids was just great.

I'm puzzled too. Perhaps senior citizens, were brought up in the "children are seen but not heard" tradition. [ I think even I heard that phrase as a 70's child ].
They're cheeky wee pups in Outnumbered but its v funny i.m.o.
Just me then.....

We can't all like the same thing.. I can't bear Norman Wisdom and saying that is like saying you want to murder cute puppies...

I thought the first series was quite entertaining. I found the character Karen rather irritating, though

Yeah: I did wonder that myself. I don't want to overplay the "generation" thing, but I was surprised at being one of the youngest audience members!
During a little bit of "audience participation", one older lady said how much she enjoyed "Outnumbered", but wished they'd get rid of Karen, and this got a fair bit of "agreement" from the audience, to put it mildly. I did think it was interesting though that these comments were mainly from older women, and referred only to the sole girl character...
Nope I think the kids are great, especially in the earlier series'.
I find them so believable what with their childlike wonderment and questioning everything. Yes, it can be annoying, but so can children, but telling them to shut up just seems depressing.
Let them carry on.

A dear friend met Norman and spoke to him when he was in Spain and said he was very friendly and a delightful person to talk to. I've always liked Norman whether in film or interviews over the years

I'm glad your friend found him to be friendly in RL, as he always came across as a lovely person in interviews, and in a documentary I saw about him.

I want to agree and I probably will once I see the later series. Part of why it worked was because they were kids. Once they become young adults it starts to lose the original idea and the beauty in that idea.
Far too many series go on and on and on and you just wish they would end. There is a lot to be said for the two series and end approach.
