Hold up everyone. It's not as good as I/We first thought

It was the recruitment company weedling out the wheat from the chaff again and down right patronising!

I've worked all in for 35 years, my CV's fine (It was done by professionals - the two tutors I worked with, they did it for a living) Recruitment company wanted me to go on a workshop next week for a week....to learn how to do CV's and jobsearch   Basically we parted company as I wasn't prepared to commit to the full week next week anyway as I already have an appt on one day, and that's besides the amount of travel money needed. £4.60 a day

The only thing I need a bit of help with is interview techniques as I haven't had all that many interviews, given my working career I haven't needed them. Even JCP says I don't need any training and if I did the only thing she could put me on would be call centre

While my phone was off though I got a call and responded back, it was my old employer Morrisons. I sent a CV off ad hoc and they said they've got it and would I fill in a application form and they'll leave it at Customer Services for me. I've been down to get it and copy it to draft my replies on to before I fill the proper one in, but haven't looked at it yet.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to answer all the posts in here.

Oh, recruitment agencies.

After I got my degree in accounting, I got my first job, but was laid off after two years. So, went to an agency, and they wanted me to take a bookkeeping test...despite my degree. I took it, and aced it, of course.

Silly people...

I assume you'd be happy to work for your old employer?

You did what most of us would do and I wish you all the best with Morrisons Sprouty

I'm beginning to think that way Velvs. All they want is their money for getting someone in to work. The amount I've signed up with (because JCP wanted me to)  and had nothing back from some of them

      It's crazy isn't it Lori?

It's not really what I want to do Lori, but it's a job and as I was put out of work through no fault of my own (redundancy again)   It's not as if they won't have me back I wouldn't have thought

Well, clearly not, or they wouldn't have asked for your CV again.

If you could make the money you want by doing anything you wanted, what would you do?

I would go back to school and finish my music degree, and become a choir director.

Lori

I do want to work in an office Lori, as it's all I've ever known but I don't know what else I'm capable of

I'm just not sure that a shop office is the right office, but as I said I can't pick and choose
