Re Elliot Carrington working as late in the evening. BBC working hours for children are that the latest he was allowed to work is 7.00 pm so to be working at 9.55 pm seems to have been in breach of this.

I think they are going a little over the top with all the praise, it's not like they have not done it before, so logistically they know how to approach it and there will have been plenty of rehearsals.
yeah but (no but) theatre actors only play to a tiny audience & they do the same play/show at least twice a day
so to play live before about 10mil people is a bit out there
and i gotta give ian his due as an actor
he played a blinder
he was blubbering & going very very red
at one point i thought he was gonna spontaneously combust
I'd question that a ten year old has the physical strength to kill an adult instantly with an item such as a small jewellery box unless the ten year old is really going for it and really meant harm. A ten year old is sufficiently smart enough to know that parents don't always tell the truth so the ten year old to not even consider that he might be responsible or partly responsible for the death considering he left her on the floor unmoving, stretches incredulity.
After a year of trailing this as a big event the script writers should have done much better than conclude with a Bobby Ewing style cop out.
It was silly and a typical whodunnit resolution, which is why I find the genre a poor genre. Too often it's a case of whoever they've primed the reader/viewer to think it could be, that's who it isn't, and whoever they've primed the reader/viewer to not consider, that's who it is.
I enjoyed it and thought the acting was really good.... apart from one thing.. There should have been actual tears from Jayne, it's tough for the actress but she should have been physically crying (with atleast a single tear streaming) but her wedding make up stayed as 'perfect' as it started
I do think Adam Woodyatt has a limited number of acting styles. Everytime I see him in this kind of situation he acts it in pretty much the same way. I also have to laugh when he is in an uncomfortable situation or one which makes which makes him nervous (especially with Phil), Ian takes this gulp and licks his lips, he does it everytime.

Some theatres hold a lot of people and those people are sat in front of the stage, watching you.

Those actors also have a "first night".
I can't remember who it was, but I heard one of the EE actors being interviewed prior to Live Week, and they said that although many of the cast were used to live theatre, the problem with the live broadcasts was that there was no audience to play off of. They therefore had all the risks of a live performance without any of the advantages.
In the same vein, I remember when Lacey Turner (Stacey) appeared in that live "Frankenstein's Wedding" thing the BBC did a few years back. She'd been worried going into it because she didn't have a musical theatre background, but it turned out the rest of the cast were looking to her for advice because she was the only one with live TV experience (due to EE).
The following is just a bit of fun, but be warned that it contains spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen Tuesday's episode yet...
One of the most amusing things about EE for me is the complicated mesh of relationships between characters. Ben being Peter's uncle (although technically only half-uncle) is at the centre of a lot of this. For example, when Peter was dating Lola, he was dating the mother of his cousin (Lexi): i.e. his own aunt! (Though thankfully not by marriage...)
Now we've got both Peter settling down with Lauren (finally!), and Abi moving in with Ben. None of them are married yet, but if they do:
Ben and Peter will not just be uncle/nephew, but brothers-in-law too!
And Abi will become her older sister's aunt!
Mind you: what might have happened if Max and Lucy's affair had ever gone further doesn't bear thinking about...
